Cebu has been named as the ‘Queen City’ of the South and the capital city of the Visayas. It has everything which the visitors need for a relaxing tropical holiday. The largest and the most popular Cebuano festival is the Sinulog Festival which is held on third Sunday of January. Other important festivals are the Tagbo Festival, the Paskuhan, the Virgin Queen of the Rule Fiesta and the Chinese Moon Festival.
Cebu City is the capital of Cebu and is the second happening city in Philippines. For centuries its cultural heritage sites have been retained and there are some new places of interest which you’ll not like to miss. Fort San Pedro is the oldest and the smallest fort in Philippines. It was a triangular citadel which was built previously with the help of mud and logs. But, with the entry of Spanish it was rebuilt again with stones and mortar. Colon Street is one of the ancient streets in the city built by the Spaniards in the 16th century. It was once the soul of Cebu’s shopping and business activities. It was named after Christopher Columbus who is known as Cristobal Colon in Spanish.
Other places to visit in Cebu are LapuLapu Monument, Taoist Temple, Fort San Pedro and Magellan’s Cross.
